Four Wheel Drive Question

I have a 2018 F150 with 4wd that I bought new. I currently have about 48k miles on it and decided to pull the front tires and check the brake pads. I lifted up one tire at a time and I noticed that each front wheel did not spin. It acted like it was locked. Years ago I had a truck that had locking hubs and if unlocked would freely spin. Is it normal for the wheel to not spin as described above. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve actually used the 4wd. My interior switch is in 2H.
Thanks. Tim

The hubs on your F150 are operated by vacuum...the engine has to be running, pulling a vacuum, for the hubs to unlock. No vacuum, the hubs lock up - a safety measure to ensure you have 4wd if something goes wrong.
