Hmmmmn, on my 70 it is hanging loose just to the left or is it to the right of the steering column. Maybe someone took yours out. What do the turn signals do?

Sounds like it's missing. Look for a connector with a 3 pin plug hanging loose. The pins are flat and at right angles. Use the pins on a flasher to give you the idea what you are looking for. On mine, Like Mike W, it's kind of hanging loose around the steering column area. MK

I think they are originally clipped to the metal support somewhere dirctly above the steering column and can be very tricky to find. You might try popping out the insterment cluster for a better look. It should be right in behind there.

WB3 is right. One is in the little clip. I clipped mine up there and couldnt find it when it went out on 285 in atlanta. I did eventually swap the hazard and blinker flash units, and now the hazards only flash if you turn on the blinker.

The '67 turn signal flasher is different (of course) than the '68 - '72, it looks like this:

On my '72 the flasher unit is clipped by plastic onto the backside of the instrument cluster on the top-left side...when pulling off the panel, it almost always popps off and falls behind the steering colum every time.

That 67 flasher may be part of the problem finding it. I'd never expect one to look like that. Mine uses the more common "can" type flasher. Same for the hazard. MK

BB when your flasher went out what happened did your tailights stop turning on when you pressed the brake and what did you replace it with the square one or a round one

Ummm, I got a '68 and the flasher hasn't gone out yet.

I have heard of other '67 owners replacing the square one with the round one.

as long as the connections are the same, dont see why they wouldnt swap out. Its just a switch- the same type as the bulb that makes chrismas tree lights blink. Learn something new every day!

One thing to remember is the turn signals and the 4 ways use a different flasher. If you put the one from a 4 way or emergency flasher in your turn signals it will continue to work if you have a bulb out. If you have the correct turn signal flash it will not blink if you have a bulb out. I also always replace mine with the heavy duty ones so they blink the same if you connect a trailer. The standard ones usually blink real fast with a trailer.
