Yes on the locker... its just there waiting for when you need it....I do lock mine in every once in a while too... just to keep things moving. same with the 4x4 if your not using it.. and the back windows in a CC.
I dont think most guys who were ordering from the ground up prior to the flu, ordered FX4. It seemed to me it was on all the lot trucks that salesman ordered. Thats not happening these days...
Maybe there was a time when Rancho branded base model shocks were an upgrade. I put them on my 1985 Bronco.... But now people upgrade to much better better shocks.
Im 66.... dont want big stickers on my vehicles.
I did order the 20s on my Lariat but it was because those were the wheels I liked best at the time and didnt want to have to buy wheels. The others were those PVD ones and guys were having them peel.
I dont remember FX4 packaging 20s? That seems opposite to me because guys doing hard off road generally prefer 18s with the bigger sidewall. Maybe I read that wrong.
I do like the looks of either all things considered, but with snowplow prep and 20s I will be putting 35s on the stock wheels and suspension. No need to spend money on any of that stuff and one reason I wanted a Ford after having good service out of a GMC 2500.... The GM was limited on tire size without a costly lift.
I still dont get hill descent. I have no idea how it works.. But seems like using manual mode and holding in a lower gear would work?
I also ordered rubber flooring in my Lariat. Along with 4.30s. The salesmen nearly crapped. Like I was crazy for either... They made me put down $1,000.00 because they said if I bailed they would get stuck with a truck they couldnt sell....
Despite the fact they had a dozen trucks on the lot...in 2019.... With shiny PVD chrome wheels...rugs I would already have turned to ****...FX4.... Nav....sun roofs..... everything I didnt need....and wouldn't buy.
IMO you’re wasting so much more than $300 on so many other things with really anything above a Lariat. It’s all just bells and after that. Nothing anyone really needs. Just fluff. Softer materials, satin trim, fancier plastic wood etc. Multi contour aka massaging seats are part of the platinum and limited package. Maybe king ranch too not sure. They may be temporarily unavailable due to parts shortages, but they’ll have provisions and be able to be retrofitted later once parts become available
Different strokes. I guess that's why they have colors besides black Some like soft seats, some like BAP, some like stickers. I believe Hondas are faster with more stickers on them.
I'll continue to buy what I like and you buy what you like.. Seems the best way to me.
Also, FWIW, in my opinion anything over an XLT is a waste… but then there will be those that say anything more than an XL is a waste… at least the different trims actually offer a little something more for the extra money though…
I bought an XL with a couple of XLT pieces.....cloth seats, 110v plug, trailer brakes.....just don't care for power locks and windows. I have had to many electric bits die over the years on my Ford's. Crank windows have yet to let me down.

So is engaging the elocker and 4x4 2 separate operations? Or does the elocker engage with the 4x4?

2 seperate.
Turn **** for 4wd hi or low.
Pull **** to engage rear e-locker.
Or just pull **** while in 2wd for e-locker. Over 25 mph it will disengage itself.

Similar here. I went with an XLT and added a few extras. In my opinion, they should just offer models (250/350/450, etc…) and all the features just be a la carte. Makes no sense that I have to go to a Lariat Ultimate just to have the option to add the LED lights for another $1200! LOL. Oh well. I ended up with my XLT with almost every single feature I wanted.
And to get back on track, I did add the elocker to mine. I think it was a great addition to the “4 wheel drive”… especially since the 4 wheel drive isn’t really 4 wheel drive.
seems like neutering a bull to have 4wd without an option for a front locker
Well, consider 99.9% of the 4wd vehicles ever built to be steers then, it is the norm. A front locker is serious overkill for almost everybody and downright dangerous to many who would have no idea how to properly use it. I have owned 7 vehicles with full lockers, unless it is a dedicated rock crawler it is generally unnecessary.

What an 8,000# crew cab, longbed can't be a rock crawler.
It does make for a great soccer mom mall crawler of course they need front locker to properly manage the curbs.

When my power train warranty is up, I'm getting a front Eaton locker for my Dana 60. Wish I could have added that when I bought it.

Right... even my little big truck is no fun on the rocky trails around here... The rear locker is a no brainer but the 25 mph limit is dumb. My Raptor would let you keep it locked up to top speed.
I think Detroits True Trac is actually a good idea in the front of these trucks. I would help in the snow I deal with without jacking up the steering. Unfortunately the LSD in the front of the Tremor isn't much better than an open diff, they almost got there...
I have the e-locker on my 2WD. I got it to pull the camper out of sandy, gravelly and maybe muddy campsites and to tow the trailer across the yard without too much damage to the grass. So far it has done both very well.
Between being able to lock the rear wheels together and having the sense not to go places I can't get back out of, I don't think the "pavement queen" will ever become hopelessly stuck. Others, of course, have different needs. I think e-locker about doubles your chances of self-extrication in either 2WD or 4x4,

Cool. So you can lock it and do a tight turn in parking lot to verify it's working if there's some hopping.
