Was running....wont start
Tired FE 390....sat for a few years...6 months ago difficulty starting with vacuum leaks and gas running over top of carb....so pulled carb, cleaned gas tank, rebuilt carb (holley 4bl), New gas lines and plugs and filters....got running, tuned floats on rebuilt carb, drove around neighborhood fine....sat in garage for winter....now won't start.
- will turn over but die unless I keep wide open throttle and feather the gas pedal
- no leaks on intake that I can see
- spark plugs maybe seem dry? When I pulled a few
- good squirt of fuel in the front barrel of carb when I run the throttle and watch the carb
- sputters very rough if it does run for 15 seconds, had a couple slight back fires through top of carb after I really cranked for a while
? Pull the carb apart
? Floats stuck or valve in carb stuck
Minimal tools to rip into engine, if I can just getting running will probably take it to garage

Yup, suspicious of the gas...pulled carb and getting kit to rebuild, no obvious debris, but front bowel did have a slight varnish smell...filters look clean, will try to siphon off some gas as much as possible and go find some non ethanol.....Will update with results after carb cleaned and reinstalled....But there wasn't any water lines on floats or any residue in either bowls.....gonna also check the fuel pump as well ( had only checked the in line filters I have coming off the gas tank pre-pump, and then small see through filter right before carb)
