Thermostat problems
So we are still having some problems with the old girl. First off, we finally found out why there was oil in the coolant, we got a cracked block. We just threw some block sealer in it for now while we look around/save up for a replacement. Engine temp light is now on. We just replaced the water pump and the thermostat today. The coolant seems to be circulating threw the engine but not the radiator. Truck warms up just fine and doesn't over heat. When the radiator cap is opened, the coolant is still cool to the touch and doesn't seem to be moving into the engine

2) is it a F6TZ8575EA motorcraft thermostat? (long stem) I will only install motorcraft thermostats in these engines, they have an air bleed hole, with out that it will airlock and never get hot enough to open.
3) did the water pump have a clear plastic cover on the impeller to protect it during shipping? if yes was it removed?
this thread seems like an addition to another thread, has the radiator been changed? if so was the shipping plugs removed from the inlet and outlet ports?
