Working Brake PSI.......
I have a 2002 F-250 XLT 4WD 5.4L and was wondering if anyone knows the operating PSI for our brake system. I have heard and read its quite a bit. I know fittings and pipes have to withhold 4,000 PSI but I am really not sure. So, if anyone knows please chime in. I am in process of doing rear fixed brake lines, rear flex hoses and repairing the long fixed pipe that runs from rear to a coupling that is located just under the master cylinder.

If you’re thinking about using a compression fitting in order to repair the brake line, DO NOT DO THIS. It is very unsafe. The compression firings sold at the auto parts store usually have “Not for brake lines” marked on the packaging. Is this why you’re inquiring about brake line pressure?
If I’m off-base, my apologies. Sorry that I don’t have the brake line pressure info for you (you are correct that it is quite high).

Got a few fittings rated for 5000 PSI which will couple two lines together and produce the flare end to the Ni-Copp that I am using. It was $15 for each steel union. It will hold for the moment until one day when I run a full length pipe from the rear to the front-ish area.
