Think about this:
A. The number of physicians in the US is 700,000.
B. Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year is 120,000.
C. Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.
(US Dept. of Health & Human Services)
Then think about this:
A. The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000.
B. The number of accidental gun deaths per year is 1,500.
C. The number of accidental deaths per gun owner 0.0000188.
Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.
Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets out of hand.
As a public health measure, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear that the shock could cause people to seek medical attention!
Good one!
As you meant it to be, your post illustrates the fine old art of sophistry: plausible, but fallacious reasoning. Without it, the Sunday TV news shows (Fox, et al.) would be quiet time!
I forget who originally said this, but it does make you think..............
"Somewhere at this moment, there is a doctor who is the worst doctor in the world. By process of elimination, there has to be one.
The worst part is that someone has an apointment with them tomorrow morning, and doesn't have a clue."
I think I work with her, watch out for University of Washington Graduates. Worse, her patients are all hospitalized, and can't break their appointments.
Sorta' sad, isn't it? 'course the same problem applies to grease monkeys.

I can't think of a single inanimate object I am afraid of that is not radiological in nature.

...Now theres a thought to ponder for all the Physicists out there...Are radiological "sources" truly inanimate...? After all they do have a life span. I'll have to ask one of the rocket scientists at work about that on monday...
....Sorry about the free associative thinking...I kinda drifted away for a moment...

I am ambivalent (for now) on the issue of Pro/Antil gun.
I am certain you message was intended as only a joke. It could not possibly be taken as serious. Your message relates only to ACCIDENTAL deaths of guns vs doctors.
Please provide similar statistics of INTENTIONAL deaths by doctors vs guns. Might your number change?
