Looking to add a stereo and speakers to my 68 F100. Anyone figure out a good solution for best speaker location? Rather not to the headliner with built in speakers.
Most people put them in the doors. But that means cutting a hole in the door/ door panel.
I built a small box for two 6.5" rounds and bolted it to the trans tunnel. That, in combination with two 6x9s in the doors, and a 10" subwoofer under the seat, really rocked in the single cab.

thinking of starting with a good head unit and good quality 6x9's in the door. Pretty much a tuna can as it is now, so never going to sound great
I am planning on making two speaker boxes for my truck that will be on each side of the fuel tank in the holes. I dont like cutting holes in the doors.
Also using two small speakers in the factory spot.

Someone makes a metal sort of enclosure that you can weld onto the side. But you have to remove the gas tank. I want to do that but gotta wait until I paint the truck. I gotta keep looking for it since I can't seem to find the link at the moment.
