Hey all--typically I'm in the E-Series sub-forum, encountered an issue I thought might be explored here. I install new windshields, mainly in big trucks but was asked to replace one in a N-I-C-E 2015 F-350, customer is an employee of a valued customer so enlisted a trusted helper. During the removal the dash board was damaged in the area closest to the windshield, customer wants a new dash board which I have no problem with doing as he asks. The part is on order, he'll install it himself as he's like many of us simply doesn't trust dealerships or others to do such tasks. So that's all water under the bridge at this point.
I'll deliver the new dash, retrieve the slightly damaged part and hand him a cool $1,000 for his troubles. I'd like to gather opinions whether having the old dash repaired and offering up for sale on Craig's List or here seeing if I can recoup some of my money. As I said this is a N-I-C-E 2015 E-350, new OEM windshield just at $700 installed, owned since brand new off the lot, customer a stand up guy and former Army veteran.
I might simply post photos of the existing damage for an "as is" sale price. (No photos currently available, IMHO its bad enough some wouldn't want it but considering the new list price is just over $1,700 MSRP and my price through the dealership is $1,100 AND subject to availability what's the general opinion of my idea to offer this up for sale? I understand photos will be necessary at some point.
So just looking for opinions and maybe options what might be done recouping some of my costs.
Looks like they go for about $500 used, so broken its hard to say. Looks like a lot of work to put in a broken piece. I would put it up for bid on eBay with shipping covered and take what I could get..

It's not broken, its simply scratched coming out of a smoke and pet free nice F-350. If I could turn this one for $500 with local pick up that would be fine. The part alone will cost me about $1100.
