Replacement engine ............

I have almost 200,000 miles on my 7.3 now ... my question is I hope my motor last forever but when it finally quits or ****s the bed on me, what are my options ?? Can I get a brand new 7.3 somewhere for it or do I drop in a powerstroke (if possible). The body and frame of my truck are in pretty good shape and I plan on keeping this truck for a long time, but if for some reason the motor dies, what should I do ??

How much for a new motor ???

thx

I had a Jasper reman put in my 93 F-250 4x4 7.3 turbo, SC at 151,000 miles now at 245,000 I had it compression tested and all eight were within 10 % of each other 360,380,370,380,380,420,390,370, they tell me thats real good. I plan on keeping this truck in service for some time yet. I wouldn't go any other way.

We've had good results with the Jasper engines. They are always happy to discuss any issues you have with one of their engines. They are up front and warranty issues are " Sorry! We'll fix it, we'll send you XX next day air! No charge!" You dont get that kind of service everyday now a days!

Also you could go with a Cummins, Chach. That would probably be the ultimate and would really last forever and the power you could get from the Cummins would really shine above the IDI's. Now I know Ia m going to get jumped but the numbers don't lie. Dollar for Dollar the Cummins would be the easiest to get the most power out of. Check out www.fordcummins.com they usually have some cool stuff to look at. I think I may do something like that after the ol 6.9l takes a dump.. Scotty

The Cummins looks good but whats the cost? Won't you need a tranny to match? Sounds spendy.

It is right around 10,000 but when you compare the difference to the other guys paying 6800.00 it is really not that much more and the truck will defianately be a different animal and the 10,000 includes another tranny.. Scotty
