Load Range E 10 ply?

Hi. I have a 1965 F100 longbed custom cab, 3.70 diff, 352 modified, and a five speed overdrive trans, wearing 31x10.5x15 Ironman Allroad AT's. They suck at tread life so I am looking at new tires, particularly the Falken WildpeakAT3w. Going down a size to 135/75/15 on 15x6 original steel wheels. While I was drooling over the tires I noticed that they had the same tire in LT 236/75/15 in load range E!
I have had E rated tires before on a one ton Chevy van and liked them and was considering them for my truck but keep getting steered away from them by tire rack and Falken website. What's the deal? Sounds like they wear faster and ride like ****, or rather, stuff. I drive aggressively and like a stiff sidewall...

Load range E tires will be rather rough riding on a light vehicle like that, it's only the weight of a 1-ton truck that makes them tolerable. For a light truck load range C tires will give you the tighter feel you are after without rattling your teeth over every crack in the road.

I have had them on work trucks that consistently carried a load. In that instance, they are necessary. I have them on my F250, and they work well loaded or unloaded; although, I don’t drive aggressively. I don’t think that a stiffer sidewall will get you better traction, or last longer. I would be interested in the results, if you buy them.

Use E for weight carrying capacity. I use them and know my ride is stiff and rough ‘cause its a cool ole truck! Not sure, but load rating and sidewall roll may not be proportional.

I’m the weird one who likes manual everything! I get to physically drive the truck forcing my will to keep all in check.

Didn't get the E's

After reading the replies, talking to other people including tire guys and truck guys, I decided to go with the 235/75R15 XL, which is a six ply rated tire. Good for 2271 lbs per tire at a max pressure of 50psi. My truck weighs in at around 4250 lbs with tools, fluids, and my fat a$$, so I could basically carry another identical truck on top of mine and the tires would be fine. I never plan on stacking my trucks like that, but I could if I have to. The tires look great, and I'm just waiting for my wheels to come out of the paint booth so I can get them on the truck and take it for a spin.

Little late, but all my trucks get E-rated tires (66 F250, 08 Tacoma, 07 Fj Cruiser) except my 2020 Tundra gets F-rated 12 ply. Ride quality comes down to tire pressure.

It was a decision I fretted over for a couple weeks but got the tires installed last night weight matched them when I mounted them and balanced out with less than 4 oz for all four tires and they drive really good in the hundred miles that I put on them we'll have to report back on that later but they look good I think I'll be happy and here's some pictures.

Mid 70's outies. I may have found some chrome center caps that will leave the lugnuts exposed

These will be needing a new home.
