I ordered a mirror for my 1995 F-250 from LMC about a year ago. I believe it was part #49-6610 I was not really happy with it, as it would vibrate/shake going down the road, but I didn't really complain as it was better than the old junk mirrors I had on the truck, and just assumed it was because the truck was 25 years old.
But then I decided to try an off the shelf mirror from O'Reilly and it was much better. So I left the LMC mirror on the passenger side of the truck and kept the O'Reilly mirror on the driver side. Now it has been about a year, and both mirrors are completely rusted and making a mess of the door. I thought the LMC mirror was supposed to be stainless, but the whole bracket assembly is rotting away. (I park outside in South Florida)
Now I just picked up a camper, and want to replace both mirrors with some kind of towing style mirror. (not the big semi truck mirrors) Who offers a mirror that is functional and good looking that wont rot away over time. I will be welding the unused holes and painting the door after the install, so I don't want to have to do this again in a year. Are LMC's low mount mirrors worth a try?
I've had the same problem with "stainless" aftermarket mirrors from LMC, Partsgeek, Rockauto, etc. Imported crap. One broke at the gooseneck and fell off the frame on the road. I'd be interested to see if anybody has a solution. OEM ones on eBay are over $100 for a beat up one if you can find it

Yep, all the aftermarket ones are junk. I considered LMC or NPD, but reviews are horrible. I have talked to complete performance, and it is in their plans to make. Until then, stick with OEM from Ebay or junkyards.
