APR MAY JUN BS Thread
May pick up some burgers & dogs for the grille as it should not be 200* out so grilling should be good.
I also got some yard work that needs doing so may do that also.
Wife has been fighting this Covid thing.
We both got it about 3 weeks ago and both felt pretty good even went to FL. for weeding last weekend but when we got home the wife got hit again worst as she had a hard time breathing and is on the same drugs I was other than the inhaler I was on.
I am on vacation this week but the last 3 days I have doctor visits and 2 of them are for my eyes and will not be able to see for the day after the visits

What is everyone doing to prep for this weekend storm?
Being the weekend helps keep everyone safe as a lot don't work weekends.
I got gas for the generator in case the power goes out. Need to check gas for the grille as we have electric stove.
Suppose to have a car show but thinking it will be a wash out?
I got some projects I can work on in the garage like fixing the A pillar trim for the truck and maybe a good cleaning?

I have not had much of a chance to work on anything of my own lately, Andre has called me over to help on the Mazda truck every day this week. I don't know if he would want me to tell you this, but he already told Wayne so I figure why not: Yesterday afternoon he called me in just a disgusting foul mood; he was putting coolant into the newly freshened up motor and then he could hear antifreeze just pouring out the back. At first he thought Wayne mislead him, because he wanted to change the "freeze out" plug in the middle of the back of the block. Both Wayne and I assured him it was a cleanout plug into the block itself and no coolant goes through it. I told him there is no way water is coming from that. Has to be the head. This is making me cringe, because I was the one who hammered in the freeze plugs for him. I'm second guessing myself. Did I insert them far enough? Did I forget to smear a little bit of form-a-gasket around the perimeter? But as fast as the water was coming out I knew it had to be something else. The head on the drivers side is about 1/4 inch from the firewall, you cannot really even get your fingers down in there to feel. Andre got a little mirror on a stick and stuck it down arranged it where we could see.. VOILA! A fresh hole in the head with water pouring out! I say fresh because it was shiny metal, and since he painted the engine already, if that hole was there last week it would be blue now. Andre starts panicking "oh no, oh my God". He goes into the cab and looks up under the dash, and YEP. He had drilled a hole to run stuff for his new gauges and that hole he had deemed too low, abandoned it, and drilled another hole higher up. But that lower one, he went through the sheetmetal of the firewall and right through the cylinder head. I was shaking my head in disbelief. "How long did you hold that drill there?" He said he didn't know he just thought he was having a hard time getting through the sheet metal. I told him I could not stay any more because it was dinner time, but honestly I was just so relieved that it was not any mistake that I made causing this. I told him cut out a larger rectangle panel in the sheet metal so you can see it and maybe we can tap it, or goober up some JB weld and shove something in there to seal it. Otherwise I guess he has to pull the top of the motor apart and look for another head!
I hope you dont loose power so your friend did not come all this way for nothing.
Dont know what you have planed but maybe plan something just in case power dose go out.
One of the last storms we had up north I spent in the garage working on the street Javelin. Lights only flickered never went out.
Oh and they were telling people 2 doors down to move to higher ground as L.I. Sound flooded up that far.
In all my years there that was the first time I seen the water come up that far.
WOW drilled thru fire wall into the head!
What sh** luck.
I would cut a hole large enough to tap that hole, may need to drill hole in head larger?
And install a bolt with sealer on it.
I think if you were to "goober up some JB weld" it would fail pretty quickly.
