Can someone tell me the correct procedure for installing auxiliary lights to the up-fitter switches? I know where the wire bundle is located in the engine bay. Should I ground the lights to the battery since the truck is aluminum? Should I ground each light individually? Is there a particular gauge wire I should use from the lights to the up-fitter switch wires? Thank you for your help!
I added a pair of LED lights to the rear bumper. I pigtailed the lights and ran a single wire to the number 3 up fitter wire under the hood. I pigtailed the grounds from both lights, and then grounded them to a nearby ground at the back. As for the size wire, just search for a wire size chart for 12V and input the numbers for the lights you choose.

I grounded my rear lights to the same bolt used to bolt the lights to the bumper, then ran the hot lead to the upfitter wire.
They are already fused and relayed, nothing else needed.
Wish some of the upfitter wires terminated under the dash, instead of all under the fuse/relay box beside the battery. Yesterday I had the bright idea to wire a CB radio to one of the switches. Had to run the power lead across the engine bay, then punch a hole in the large cable grommet above the brake pedal to run my power and antenna lead into the cab. My back is still in pain from the contortions I had to go through to feed the wires through the firewall. Ford allegedly does supply some pass through wires, but I count not find them on either side of the firewall.
I installed the lights, grounded them to the frame with eye ring connector, connected to blue/green wire for aux 3 switch. Turned the truck on, hit the switch--nothing.
did I do something wrong? I've wired my own lights before on past trucks with my own relays and wiring--worked just fine. Why is this not working?

Well, obviously something is wrong.
Did you try the other switches in case you just hooked up the wrong one?
Have you tested the lights by directly hooking them to a battery to make sure they work at all?
I have my aux tank valve hooked to the #3 switch, but don't recall which wire color it was.
You did get the wire from the bundle under the upfitter fuse/relay box on the passenger side of the engine bay?

There are 4 pass through wires already in place, no need to punch any holes. You can find one end of the passthrough wires in the kick panel on the passenger side, which can be connected to items inside your vehicle. The other end of the passthrough wires are under the hood, right near the bundle of wires for the up fitters. Just make sure that you use which ever color wire you used inside the cab to connect to which ever up fitter number you want.

See the attached PDF. The wires come to the passenger side footwell.
Are the pass through wires in the cab for the up fitter switches? or are they live full time?
The pass through wires, 4 of them, are in the cab. Passenger side kick panel area. They are not live, just wires stubbed out through the firewall for you.
