Where would you get a Torx bit big enough to unscrew the bed of the truck? Those are some mondo bolt heads and something tells me that Lowe's (or Eagle or whatever they call themselves this year) ain't gonna have them.
I bought the Torx bit for my tailgate at a hardware or something similar, may have even been Bi-Mart (I think they're the same size, maybe not). Lowes might have it, doesn't hurt to look.
I got the ones I used to take off my bed at Autozone, if you ask them for help they will probably take it out to your truck to check the size. I find they are very helpfull. I forget the size I think it is T50? or T45?
Hmm, honestly didn't think that a auto parts store would have tools for something like that. Logically you'd think they would but in my limited experience stores like that only carry quick moving items.
Yeah, I got mine from AutoZone as well. My box bolts use size T-55. Once you get the bolts out, note that the two nearest the cab are longer than the others (so you can put 'em back in the right holes--I didn't at first, and my box ended up temporarily crooked after an off-road trip).
I got mine at Sears. They are notorious for breaking because of the design, so it's nice to know that you can always take a broken Craftsman tool back and get it replaced quick and easy.
