2022 BDS Lift issues

Just installed the 4” bds radius arm lift on my 2022. Everything seemed fine until today when I got on the highway. Have a drive line vibration at around 65-70 mph. I’m almost 100% it’s from the drive shaft. Here’s my issue. On these trucks it seems all of the rear lifting blocks are tapered. Even the BDS kit for the 2017-2019. But in 2020, they started shipping with a straight 4.5” block, no taper. Looking at other kits for the current year. Rear blocks are all listed as tapered. What am I missing here. Why does bds send these new block with no taper. Called them today and didn’t get much help. Going to try again Monday. Anybody else have these issues. Debating to just order some rear blocks from a different manufacturer.

I have the regular bed with the one piece driveshaft

blocks should absolutely be tapered, especially at that height.
the stock blocks are tapered.

i had a driveline groan upon deceleration at 69-70 mph after installing a 2" flat block from a very well known/respected manufacturer.
after reinstalling the factory tapered block, the groan was gone.
ended up getting another block with 2.5* taper from another manufacturer and they have been perfect

Altering the ds angle will absolutely cause issues like that.

Stock trucks, as long as I can remember, have been nose down. That hasn't changed. Lifted trucks however, going back to the 80's, were level if not rear low in these parts. I have noticed the amount of *** sag has become more extreme over the years. The "Carolina Squat" is rediculas.

Here's an option, although I imagine there must be a lower cost alternative.

thanks. Might give them a call Monday. These flat blocks from bds are 4.5” and the truck sat perfect. Others I’ve seen online are 4” or 5”. Anyone know what the taper is off hand?

add a spacer to the carrier bearing

I have a 5" lift with no tapered block and I added a spacer that is almost 1" thick.

Did you call them back? They make quality kits, would be surprised if they did not make it right for you. I have a 2020 with the BDS 4" and it is perfect.

Beautiful truck!!!
yep, gave them a call and they only make flat blocks for the 2020+. Which from what I’ve read is fine for the long bed but the short beds require a 2.5* taper block. Crazy part is that the 2017-2019 kit from them comes with tapered blocks. Oh well. Ended up ordering a set from PMF and they should be here tomorrow
