For $100, I got a set of 8 coils. My coils sometimes spark, even with new grease.
They seem to have great authentic reviews. I could always use the boots and resistors on the stockers, the set isn't much less. I have them, they look very high quality.
They are sold by ENA, which is ACEON-BRIGHT, INC.. They have replacements for pretty much every car with pretty good reviews. I am not expecting them to last 200K, but it is probably the same quality as what you get at a parts store. I will have the old coils if one goes bad. Real easy to swap. New coils come with a grease pack , but they state it is preferred but optional with their boots.
I'm going to suggest that, if eight cost the same, or less than one, at the dealer, they are made in you know where, and you get what you pay for. Is there such a thing as an authentic revue, at Amazon? For a coil, I go to the dealer. Let us know how long they last. You never know. There are some things I will replace at Autozone, Advance or O'Reilly's, but a coil is something I go to the dealer for.
I've been tempted to replace a water pump on my 08 BMW, but it is electric, and when those go out on you, they strand you, real bad. They cost about $350-400, but I found one place on Ebay that sells them for $60. Nah, My 11 F250 is going to get oem parts. I have replaced one coil for sparking issues. I think it was around $125.
I learned my lesson about cheap replacement electric parts on the BMW.
If I knew even a spark plug came from you know where, I wouldn't even buy that.Just me.
One dropped out already. First symptom was shudder on hills. Then (eventually) a flashing CEL if you pass anyone. It rode nice but never had a perfect idle. I was able to get 15 mpg driving it very easy with those coils.
But the boots are good for the old coils. A set of boots and resistors isn't much less than the coils. When I put the boot on the old coil, the truck seems smooth as glass now. It is real easy to change.
Just to follow up, they (customer service) replaced the bad coil a while back and I have a few thousand miles on them, good mileage and pickup. Truck idles perfectly. Really can't go wrong for what they cost, the boots alone are worth it. I guess a coil can be bad, even guys in the new truck section have coils replaced under warranty.
