Looking for a little quick help here on warranty question. Truck is going in this morning for warranty work detailed in a different thread. They’re telling me they are going to need the truck for a week, and won’t answer through text conversations with the service agent,(they never answer the phone) whether or not I will be given a loaner car. I was looking through the warranty, also purchased an extended warranty through Ford and can’t find where I thought I’d seen it in there. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can’t go a week without a vehicle nor do I want to pay for a rental out of pocket. Any experience with this, or detail where it’s written would be greatly appreciated!
The Premium Protect includes $40/day towards a rental for up to 10 days. I have not used it so don't know what the process is.
There are additional paid options that give 1st day rental and higher daily $ amount. Those would have been options you would have picked and paid an additional amount for.
Extended warranty doesn't go into affect until the original warranty has expired.
Loaner cars are actually a dealer courtesy, some have them, some don't, some have so few loaners that they are often all spoken for.
You can always try another dealer, I sure would if the one you are dealing with doesn't answer the phone or any other communications.

That's not true. The ESP will not provide duplicate coverage to the factory warranty but coverage that is unique to the ESP such as rental car, key fob replacement (optional coverage) trip interruption, etc., is covered from day 1 of the ESP.
Update: They sent me with a PO over to Hertz for a rental. Only car they had that I could rent was an Explorer, that’s $5 a day over what Ford will cover.($40) Doesn’t go far here in Hawaii, and it has to be a Ford, I guess understandably. I was told by a friend though that they are supposed to get you a rental as close to the same as what you have in the shop, and the $40 limit is not true. At this point I’m happy I can get back and forth to work, and am keeping my fingers crossed my truck will be fixed.

The dollar limit is real. The ESP contract says nothing about getting a rental as close to what you have in the shop. There is optional coverage under the ESP that increases the daily dollar limit. The purpose of the option is to cover a vehicle closer to the one you have if what you have is a large truck or SUV.
Edit: my response assumed that you are getting rental coverage under an ESP as it was mentioned earlier in the thread. If this is not the case, please disregard my reply.

I would hope think that you get a Courtesy vehicle especially if you bought from that dealer....I know my dealer and like many have reduced the number of vehicles lend out...but if I was in for work if all there's were out they would rent me one from National and even what I wanted within reason...
Aside for the originals post if warrant question, what and how is everyone handling extended warranty and ESP. I understand everyone will have different needs. Just looking for POC, cost timeline for getting it.

original post was about warranties and what is covered. Aside from that original topic, 1 who is everyone going with and 2 how are you going about obtaining an extend warranty and service plan. I understand prices will vary depending on individual needs.

I think the answer to 1 and 2 would be the same. Granger Ford is a forum sponsor offering Ford Protect extended warranty plans for $50 over cost. There is a thread on here with all the information necessary to get a quote and purchase through them. There are other sources that have discounted plans aswell.
I put low miles on my truck compared to some others, so I chose a plan with the longest time(8 years) and a mileage that I anticipate being close to, but realistically wouldn't exceed prior to that time.
A lot of this depends on your dealership also. I have an ESP plan with first day rental and enhanced rental. My dealership will offer me a loaner if I drop it off for an oil change. If it comes in for service/recall my advisor will have a loaner waiting and on the odd chance they're our of vehicles they will offer to get me a 150 from Enterprise across the street if I want. I usually turn down the 150 and take whatever SUV they have as I can do without the truck for a couple days. Last time my truck was in for the replacement transmission (about 3 weeks) I had a 21' Navigator to drive.
