I have a 98 Mazda B3000 and i am looking for some help on some problems. First off my front hubs are not engaging all of the time. any ideas for a fix??
Second My Heater/AC controls are on the havoc. No matter where I want the air to flow it only seems to want to use the defrost venting. It will sometimes surge between where i want it and the defrost vent. Open to any ideas for fixing..duct tape...zip tie...macgyver style...anything..just kidding..LOL.
And last but not least my check engine light is always on I took it to Autozone and the code came back as PO455. Which in my book says Evaporative emission control system malfunction (con. Leak detected).. in english please and possible solution??? my book lists the problem but not cause or solution.
Help with any of these would be greatly appricated.
The heater controls are vacuum operated. I once used some fresh chewed gum to plug the leak in a 1985 Crown Vic automatic park brake release(vacuum operated). Before you go to fix the code problem, you should take care of the heater controls. I think that no vacuum to them will cause them to go to defrost??? Do a search to verify this.
I bet you have pulse vacuum hubs so that point to a vacuum problem too. I would fix this issue before the EVAP code and then confirm you still have the code.
