Frame fun times
in the middle of a total frame off rebuild of an ‘88 F-350. I had to fully patch in one of the middle sections. After repeated measuring and checking for level, half a dozen braces, I hired a professional welder to finalize my welds.
unfortunately, after the welds cooled I found that the middle part of my frame is about 1/4 inch out of “level” over a 4 foot level (the bubble is still between the lines) while the front and back are dead straight on.I’m tempted to reopen my fish plates and try to correct, but I’ve read several resources saying that even from the factory “they don’t always lay straight”. Any thoughts? The front to back side to said and diagonal measurements are perfect. The heat from the weld just gave it a very slight “twist”.
