I don't understand this. You literally found your issue but you didn't replace the solenoid pack? Why not?

I like to think there's a special place for those who take advantage of elders.

I think you missed something. I installed a new solenoid pack on the original rebuild. Subsequently we retried with the original pack and then a second new one. What you quoted was my probing to ensure I had the right type because there is a different type for transmissions that use PWM, which mine does not. So no, I had not "literally found my issue" at that point.

You understand the solenoid pack you showed that you tested in this thread (post #5) was not within spec, right? The Converter would not lockup with that wrong/bad pack. You installed a pack after the one you posted about, that read 14 ohms, but just didn't post about it here? After replacing the one you tested, it read between 20-30 ohms? If I missed that, what post # was it?

Either way, I'm sorry to inform you sir, you've been taken. There would have been no reason to completely reman and already reman trans, simply due to failing locking converter. If not the pack, it was probably simply a stuck valve in the pump or something. It's highly unlikely they went through the trans, threw out the new steels and clutches just to replace them with other new steels and clutches.

It wasn't the solenoid pack. As I said we tried two new ones and the original, which was working before the tranny came apart. Also checked the valve in the pump and put in another rebuilt pump so it wasn't that either. I knew long ago it wasn't the solenoid pack as I had hard wired a ground switch to it and you could hear it actuating. If you've got any other ideas as to what it was I'm all ears but it wasn't either of those things, been down those roads and I'm certain of it. So, while I appreciate your concern, no I wasn't "taken" and you can stop worrying about me, or pitying me or whatever it is you are trying to convey here. I'm doing just fine thank you very much.

I posted just to wrap up this thread, didn't want to start a new one so let's just call it done.

Yes, sir. I'm glad she's running good for you now. I hope you have a great trip to Alaska! I haven't been yet myself. I hope you take lots of photos and it sounds like your going during a good time to take a fishing rod too.
