I’m going to mock up a 429 to see how it fits in my 63 Pig. It’s got a 390 in it now but I’m going to frame off this truck. I can’t find a standard bore 390 to rebuild. I have one in the garage but it’s for my S-code fastback.
Not interested in power steering because I love the feel of a straight axle. The 429 has to fit under the brake booster. We’ll see 🤔
INSTAG8R63, Man, I don't think you know what ugly even looks like. See my post in the 61-66 section, in the thread 61-63 unibody or something like that, and see picks of my 63.

I see your point 😬
I actually love my old 63. That’s why I’m going to sink a pile of cash into it.
I bought it for $50 in 1984, running and driving.
It’s going to look reasonably stock, with a sweet stock tailgate, two-tone paint, a 62 grille, chrome bumpers and a 429/C6. Currently a 390/C6 with a 3.00:1 rear gear and disc brakes. It’ll run 100 mph, real smooth since I rebuilt the steering box and linkage. Also fabbed up a nice front sway bar.

Sounds like it has been a killer truck, and will be again, especially if you have that pile of cash to throw at it!
My 63 I bought about 5-7 years ago for 1200, delivered. It had a broken block six cylinder, worn out 3.03, unknown rear gears but I suspect 4.11, and a little less rust in the drip rails. LoL.
I went through a few plans for it, including a 240 six, I bought a foxbody mustang for the 5.0 and TK5, decided to use the front K-member as well. Dismantled the Mustang and mocked everything up in the truck then decided that the 5.0 was too...wimpy as well as the front suspension. I scrapped that idea and picked up a C.V. front suspension, a 352 from a parts truck, I have a T-19, a couple COE's, and a 3.03 that I could use for a transmission, and a Jaguar center section with BMW M-5 swing axles that I would like to make work for independent rear suspension. I have the inner fenders and underside of the hood paimted and clear coat on the outside to seal that beautiful chromic yellow patina, dents and all. Now all I need is more time, and a pile of cash.;-)

Nice! I’ve been stockpiling parts for years. Someone cut speaker holes in the doors and there’s some rust in the lower corners but I have another real nice set of Uni doors already blasted and in primer. I’ve got all the weatherstrip, rechromed OEM bumpers, two speed wiper motor, a couple of rust-free core supports.
I’m finally focused on getting this truck stripped and off to the blaster.
Nice. I pulled the grill and headlight buckets/bezels and got them blasted but that's all for the exterior. I am going to make the engine compartment and interior nice to contrast the outer ugliness.
I’ve been busy with other projects but I was able to spend some time getting the 429 set into the frame yesterday.
I offset the engine/trans about 1-1/4” to the right. Had to notch the crossmember under the bell housing.
The engine brackets didn’t offer enough offset so I had to modify them.
I have about 3 degrees up on the pinion yoke so I made sure the crank line was down 3 degrees.
I’m not using this frame, the mock up is so that I know where to drill the holes in the other frame.
I got around to modifying offset into the Trans Dapt engine swap mounts.
I bought two sets and doubled up on the frame brackets. Mine will attach with four bolts. Engine offset to the right.
I would’ve added more pics but this website rotates all of my pics to appear sideways.
