Recently purchased a Luminex Ford Emblem for the front grille of my 2020 F-150 Lariat from the American Trucks website. Had it installed by the dealer but now AM/FM radio reception is poor. Didn’t have this radio interference before installing the emblem and when unplugging the emblem during troubleshooting, the radio works perfectly.
I tried clip on ferrite RFI EMI noise suppressors. They do help some but do not rectify the problem totally.
Any advice on how to proceed? I’d like to keep the emblem if possible because it really looks great, especially on dreary days or at night.
Filters! Many very inexpensive (AKA cheap) LED have what's known as constant current voltage regulators that get past regulators with out sufficient filters. They can emit a very wide range of frequencies and feed back through the wiring. I suggest adding a capacitor filter and/or a toroid on the wire feeding the LED.
