Heated Tow Mirror Question

Mirrors were very fogged up this morning and took about 25 min. to clear while driving.
Not convinced it was the "heating" (or not heating) mirrors clearing it and not the ambient air circulation around them while driving.

My 06' usually clears them in less than half that time under similar conditions.
Anyone have similar/same experience? How long does it take yours to clear? I'm aware it would vary with different levels of moisture and temperature.

I haven't really tested them out, can't say I have ever found them to be fogged up. Was the hvac set to defrost? (Or is it the rear window defroster that needs to be turned on?)

I agree OP sounds like they may have not been working. I've used mine a few times, and they have cleared in around 2-3 minutes.

Should be matter of minutes. Make sure you have rear defrost on, that turns the mirrors on

No, should have only taken a few minutes to clear.
Did you have them turned on correctly?
Button that activates the rear window defrost is what you use to activate the mirror heat as well.

This is from my 2019 manual. Funny thing is there isn't a dedicated button. I was under the impression from reading, that the window defrost button is what turns the mirror heat on.

I've seen a screen shot from a newer MY manual that hade a note saying that the rear window defrost button also activates the heated mirrors.

I don't think XL get heated mirrors.

They do when you order them. Comes in with the power equipment group.
Listed on my build sheet and Mirrors also have the "heated' designation etched in them.
Manual in my FordPass shows a switch on the door mirror control to the btm left of the Window lock but i dont have that switch.
Window lock button takes the whole btm space. Turned it on anyway and didnt change anything.
Maybe they forgot to add the switch and hook them up lol?
