I got an f250 crew cab short bed, with the 5th wheel prep. I tow a gooseneck, and want to install a diesel transfer tank. I would like at least 50 gallons. But I am having issues finding one that will work to where I can still see the gooseball. I like the transfer flow 50 gallon tank, but I don't think I can see the gooseball. Anybody with shortbeds have a tank that works with the camera?
You won't be able to see much no matter what.
I have the bed camera and the detail is terrible, hard for me to see anything much of even my 5th wheel when trying to hook up.
Check the measurement between the bed corner reinforcements at the floor, it gets very tight getting an aux tank in there.
Those measurements on those tanks listed don't include the mounting tabs, they stick out about 1.5" or so on each end.
Another option would be to add an additional bed camera at 90 Deg. to see the hitch location. Here's a tuber where I got the idea. It might give you more options for the tank configuration instead of relying on the stock cam.
Check out ATTA, I have had their tanks in two of my trucks and they are great. They come in all kinds of sizes and will even custom build them for you.

yes, I considered the side brackets, but I will just cut them off if they don't fit. If I bolt it down I will use the front and rear brackets. But I don't want to put holes in my floor if I don't have to so I am thinking about strapping it down to the bed hooks on the front of the bed.
