I am building a 77 Supercab swapped 99 F250 with 7.3 and 4R100. Underneath it is all Superduty. I don't have room up front for the trans cooler and have decided to go with a remote cooler mounted back under the box.
I can't find any information on how large a cooler I will need to keep this rig happy. It will spend a fair bit of time hitched up to the float and working the way a truck should so it needs a good amount of cooling even over stock.
Has anybody got any insight or maybe has done this before?
I've heard of guys running the stock 6.0 trans cooler. I believe it's bigger than the unit that came on the 7.3 stock. The trans in my 2006 6.0 rarely gets over thermostat temp (160F) even when towing heavy in 100+ ambient temps.
Only $167 on Tasca, don't think you'll get anything close from the aftermarket.
