My 03 F350 5.4L oil stick won't go back in and I noticed the tube is moving, so I'm going to assume it's rusted in two. Do I have to remove the oil filter housing to get to the tube?, is it a slide in with an Oring? How is it attached?
thanks for any info.
I have same Oil Dipstick Tube dilemma. I am going to remove the tire, shock tower and shock. I plan on also removing the exhaust manifold as mine was replaced 2 years ago. Bolts shouldn't be an issue. A Guy had a tip about the tube AFTER the O-ring. If its stuck (When the tube breaks in two), grab a 3/8" extractor, insert and turn it backwards. If you can, spray some PB Blaster in there before you work on it.

I'd like to fix it but I have so much rust, I'm not sure it's worth it. I only have 136K on it but Illinois salt has taken it's toll, I don't think I can get the manifold off without snapping the studs. I may try to drop the oil filter and housing and see if I can get to it that way. But this truck has about met it's match with the rust.
