Anyone ever install a door spring strut that opens the door all the way to the door stop? With our steps folding inside the RV, we need something that (#1) opens the door all the way so we can fold down our steps and (#2), mounts on the top door jamb so it's out of the way of the steps. Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: I'm trying to avoid installing a friction hinge. Just not crazy about those.
Thanks,
Mark
My door has a gas spring strut that hold the door open at 90 degrees. It's that way to keep the door from fully opening and hitting the awning bracket. My strut mounts to the door threshold plate in such a way that I can't install the mor-ryde steps or any other that folds inside. If my strut was up top, I think it would be an issue for my head.
That would be in the way of my Glowsteps. I was looking for something that would mount at the top. Guessing there aint anything out there....
There's not enough material in the top of the frame to move it from the bottom to the top either. Also, I'd definitely hit my head on it going in and out.
