Has anyone had any issues with the tail gate not working properly with a BedRug?
I had one put in today and the tailgate shuts hard and does not open easily, you have to push on it to get it to open.
I think the BedRug is falling down into the seam and making it stick.
Yeah you have to "train" it to fold upwards. Once it sits like that for awhile it naturally folds that way but every once in awhile it will get pushed down if you are dragging stuff in and out over it, and you have to hike it back to folding upwards.
I had my bed sprayed with liner (LineX) and the did the BedRug - I've put them in all my pickups and they're great - durable, softer and cooler than a black bed mat
if i didn't have the tailgate step i'd absolutely buy the amp corner step thing. honestly it's a better design than the tailgate step which is a bit of a process to use. corner step you just push it down with your foot and whammo you're in the bed.
I've had the full BedRug in the past. I liked it and had no problems with it. But I thought that the replacement velcro kit to move it from one truck to the next was pricey for what it is.
Last 2 trucks I've gone hybrid. I have a Dualliner but use a BedRug mat and tailgate protector. Kind of the best of both worlds.
As far as steps I have an AMP Research rear step that I use often. I had a Bestop TrekStep on a 2016 F 250. It's basically the same thing as AMP but was about $70 cheaper at that time. But Bestop was slow to come out with an updated version when the current iteration of Super Duty came out in 2017 so I bought the AMP and the same one's been used on a 2017,19, 20 and now 2022.
I think the installer stretched it too tight and didn't leave enough gap at the end of the tailgate, it seems to be not lined up with the latches.
I will most likely end up taking it back in to have them work on it some more.
The tailgate one doesn't stretch, it just happens to be wide enough if you don't get it perfectly centered, one side will catch. Getting it perfectly centered is a pain as the strips that secure it grab really fast and hold very good. They are velcro like, but use a different technique to secure.

Totally agree, the move kit costs $50 or more, did it myself with the one I have now. Still cheaper than buying a new one for $450 or whatever they cost now, but totally worth it.
