Transmission
Transmission
Good evening I was wondering if I need to do a small fix or replace the whole transmission itself?
So when I put the truck in reverse it goes with no issue at all but when I put it in drive it’s like it’s stuck in neutral until I hit the gas pedal and rev it up high then it kicks into gear and it kicks hard can fill it from the rear differential as well then after a few seconds it repeats until I rev up high again and get it going.
so what should I look at before replacing the whole transmission

It would be easier for people to help you if you told us what year, model and transmission you have. You mentioned putting it in drive but doesn’t tell us which automatic transmission. Some are all mechanically controlled and some are electronic.
I have a 1993 Ford F-150 5.0 4 speed automatic trans
