I have a 2017 F350 with only 26k miles. The last two days I get a "Check Brake System" message right after I start the engine. It stays illuminated no more than a couple of seconds. It has an "OK" button to clear the message, but the message goes away on its on. I don't even have time enough to click the "OK" button. So far the message has not come on while driving or at any other time, only when I first start it up. No other messages or warning lights. Any of you guys or girls seen this before? Any ideas?
Original batteries. Both show a "green" indicator, for what that is worth. There doesn't seem to be any problems starting the engine like I would think a low battery would show. Thanks.
Make sure your parking brake is fully released. You may have to put your foot behind the pedal to pull it up a notch or two.
Otherwise, check your fluid level at the MC.
Fluid level is right at "max". I will check your parking brake suggestion. Looking at the owners manual, it seems to indicate that I would get a "brake" trouble light. But that may only illuminate if the parking brake pedal is more depressed. Thanks.

These trucks are very sensitive, stock batteries are junk from Ford. I would replace with Northstar AGM or Odyssey AGM and start there, you're due for new ones anyways. Truck may start fine yes, but batteries on these cause what appear to be gremlins that aren't gremlins. I've learned my lesson with cheap batteries and waiting with traditional lead acid on vehicles, it's not worth the BS and inconvenience.

I noticed you have the same year truck as mine, and sounds like you have already been down that road. Thanks x2
Would it store a code without a trouble light being lite? Could an Auto Zone be able to pull the code or would it have to go to a dealer? Thanks.
I believe there is a CEL history. The code reader at an auto parts store may be able to read it. Checking for codes is free and doesn't take long. Might as well rule that out.
