Moog Tie Rod Boot

I'm replacing my tie rod ends using Moog parts. I'm assuming this top boot on the passenger side tie rod is supposed to go over the metal lip of the tie rod, but I can't get the sucker pried on there. Is it actually supposed to go on like that and if so any tips for getting it to go without ripping the boot?

Just drop the stud through and torque it down, don't play around with the boot.

I've looked everywhere for a how to video. the closest I've found is 3 YouTube videos where guys used the part. Two skipped where they put the boot on and one just sat it on the joint without clipping it in place.

The boot needs to be on there to keep the road dirt and debris out of the joint. I would probably try using a plastic dash tool to pop it over the lip.

Normally the boot just pops on by itself as the nut is torqued to specs, and once on, it's shape is allowed to pivot while providing an adequate seal. Pretty sure there is not a lip to slide it over, ...its concave shape keeps itself over the joint

Once torqued down you wont have a gap anymore. The joints on that end all smash together pretty tightly.
