My 22 CCLB 7.3 came w/ Goodyear Wranglers. I've always used michelins on my work van and I've been happy with them. How are the wranglers long term? I will say they are quiet on the expressway.
If I can find a tire shop that will take my stock Continentals in on trade (not hit 1,000mi yet), I’ll be replacing them with Michelin Defender in 295/70-18.
Have a set on my wife’s Tahoe and they’re NICE. Light, quiet, smooth, handle good in the rain, and reportedly wear like an anvil.
I've run the Michelin Defenders on everything I've owned the past 10 years or so. Ford Ranger, Honda Pilots, My RV and my Pickup Trucks. They are a great tire. My last truck tire purchase was Cooper Discoverer XLT's only because I wanted something with a more aggressive tread for my often off road excursions. The Coopers were also a great tire, long wearing, and quiet. I'll be going back to the Coopers when my Goodyear Wranglers need to be replaced.
I replaced the OEM Wranglers with Michelin Defenders. Within 2000 miles I went back to the Wranglers. It was a horrible towing experience. I hope that it was just a bad set of tires. I have have Michelins on other vehicles and they weren't a problem.
My '17 came equipped with the Wranglers and they now have 41K on them. They're wearing nicely and I should get another 15-20K out of them. I think the key with any brand tire is to keep them rotated.
My 2019 CCLB 6.7 came with Wranglers. I liked them as they offered good performance all around. I thought I would buy another set when they wear out since they are reasonably priced. Rotated at Discount Tire every 5-6K miles since new. They became little harsh at about 25K miles, and you could feel vibration in the steering wheel at speeds above 60 MPH. At 33K miles they were done, DT wouldn't rotate them (I fully expected that, didn't blame them). Very disappointing on the wear front.
I always had good luck with Michelins, and went with their AT2 tire (comes standard on Lariat and above trims). So far, I cannot tell the difference between the two when new. I am certainly hoping this tire will last a lot longer then Wranglers.
