Or custom

Most people add individual gages to the dash, steering column, or driver side pillar.

Good luck

Probably easier to tee off your oil pressure sender, and then just mount an aftermarket gauge under the dash, and keep the original warning light working. Add a volt meter or ammeter to better monitor charging. Or do a three-gauge-pod with a redundant water temperature gauge... Also you can connect the aftermarket gauges' lights to the trucks dimmer circuit, for perfection.

If you want the full OEM gauge package, you need at least the wire harness which goes to the gauges, and probably some more under the hood to support the ammeter.

It is not a straight swap. Like mentioned above, it takes a decent amount of work to make it happen.

Depending on your budget, they can be had brand new in digital form. From literally digital (blue flouroscan numbers https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/produc...79yr/Dash_78yr) to analog looking but fully electronic (https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/product/19376/Dash_78yr), to newer ones that try to mimic the original panel (https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/product/19375/Dash_78yr). All from Dakota Digital.
Their site probably has more detailed info, but I thought I'd throw out a shameless plug for our site again. Hadn't had a good chance like this in awhile, so shame went right out the window!

At about $650 the base model is certainly more than just picking up a used dash or some inexpensive under-dash modules. But probably not that far out from a stock reproduction cluster, the senders and wiring. Then of course you get into the big buck items, but they sure are nice!
Speedo is adjustable for tire size, senders and wiring included, and one small-ish module that controls everything. As much as I prefer the newest RTX model, I went with the base VFD because at the time that was the choice. Pretty much decided to stick with it though, based strictly on cost. And I don't really get all bent out of shape by the blue digital readouts since spending time in an '89 Cadillac with a dash like that changed my perspective on the subject.

It's all doable especially if you do your own wiring. As much as I like ammeters though, I'd get a dash with a volt-meter in it rather than figure out how to run the shunt wires like Ford did. I wonder if they're tucked away inside the harness somewhere unused and ready to connect?
Nah... That would be too easy!

Good luck with the decision.

Paul

Wow that RTX looks really tempting. Price seems high until you consider today's world it's a bargain. Just had a quote today from my Ford dealer for tires for the DD work beater $979 and a price match warranty. Paid $5 for gallon of milk and $4 for gallon of gas yesterday. Those gauge panels get more tempting every day. Amp gauges are a thing of the past, if you add high amp alternator into your build at some point the original amp gauge is not going to work without a lot of work and experimentation. The red warning lamps are not actually that bad. A gauge can sit in the norm position for thousands of miles a red lamp will catch your eye.

There's a few different places that make a replacement instrument panel cluster that will fit a large aftermarket speedo and tach with 4 smaller gauges.

Here's autometer, but there's cheaper ones on ebay. Then you just need to figure out what you want for gauges.

https://www.autometer.com/direct-fit...100-73-79.html

Then there's always the option of running a tablet as a instrument panel and setting it up however you want.
