Question Pushrods for 400 w/roller cam

I know that there are a few here that have converted to Roller cams in their 400.

What length pushrods are you using?

I have roller rockers and guideplates as well. My present pushrods are hardened. I think that I will need new shorter hardened pushrods.

How about a low buck tool

There can be a lot of variables. It's best to check for yourself.

My present pushrods are 5/16 hardened chromealloy 9.5" long by Trick Flow. I think that roller lifters will reduce that by 0.604" to 8.896".

Trick Flow sells a 5/16 hardened chromealloy pushrod in 0.050" increments up to 9.0". I should be able to use 8.90" pushrods. I think that I will wait until I have everything assembled and check using a home made checker like in that article.

You will need shorter push rods. I would suggest using the cam makers push rods and checking them for proper length/geometry.

Most of the modification was to my wallet! It's a Gear Vendors and involves removing the tail shaft housing and shortening the drive shaft. Excellent unit but not cheap.
