Got the motor stuck in place and all buttoned up Sunday. Took about 10 hours. Started right up and sounded smooth. Test drive the next day threw all kinds of codes, erratic running, etc. Swapped in the original egr valve and found some wires the PO had stripped and taped with duct tape. Think they were touching each other, causing issues. We cut, soldered, and heat shrank them. Test drive indicated no more issues. No CEL.
We also replaced the trans filter and filled the trans with fresh cherry juice.
