'02 Excursion front hub locking issue
i have a problem with my auto locking hubs.
Recently i rebuilt my front axle. Knuckle seals, new Timken wheelhubs etc.
Auto locking didn't work before and now i know that there can't be any vacuum leaks. All the air is moving fromt vents to feet to windsheald etc and even in full power.
After switching the 4x4 on and off a few times then the vacuum pump starts working again.
I think that there was a leak that i fixed at the reservuoir and it has damaged the pump couse it takes more than 45sec to fill the reservuoir.
The main issue is that the driver side hub locks automaticly but the passenger side wont lock..
The hub on the passenger side should work fine, it has been greased recently..
Anyone know what to look? I would like to get them working!
auto hubs have a bad habit of not working when needed, manual hubs always work.
Changed the hubs from left to right. Still same issue. So the hub is alright.
Mesured the vacuum from the solenoid at first it was under 15 inch MG? and then it somehow went over 15 inch-mg.
Checked all the lines. Everything alright.
Suddenly both hubs worked.. After this i had to go for a drive and needed the 4x4. Stopped at a gravel road, switched the gear into neutral and hold the brake pedal, switched the 4x4 high and tried to reverse hard, so i could see if the front hubs lockled. Again no lock..
Is there any change that the PVH solenoid is bad and wont give over 15 inch-mg?
