Alternator Stator Connection
I recently purchased a 69 F100, V8 5.9L 2WD as a secondary vehicle. I am working on getting it up to speed, some paint, switches and wiring, gaskets, etc.
The current task is replacing the alternator, which should be pretty straight forward - and seems to be fine.
The only thing is that the old alternator did not have a stator connection. After reading some online stuff, it seems that maybe this is not necessary (or wasn't used) for 65 and later models. Can anyone confirm that the stator connection is not necessary? Until now, I am not much more than an automobile tinkerer and would like to think I am moving forward with this truck doing things right.
Thanks in advance for any input!
