Ordering Question - Chrome Package
I'm planning on ordering a King Ranch later this year and am debating the Chrome package. Is it possible to only order the chrome package tailgate and the rest of the truck without the chrome package?

No you cannot.

I dislike the chrome wheels and mirror caps. Not worth the extra $$$$, IMO.

No, you can't pick and choose what parts of an option package you get, all or nothing.
You could change the individual part you want afterward, but on your dime.
What tailgate difference is there? I thought chrome package was mostly just chrome bumpers, wheels and tailpipe?

The chrome package tailgate gets the applique between the taillights like the platinum and limited have, the normal one just gets the standard tailgate with the King Ranch emblem in the corner.

Later this year will more than likely put you in the 23 model, by then the purchase order form may change... with any luck Ford may allow the tailgate option

You will be ordering a 2023 then, because as far as I've seen 2022 ordering cutoff is in 2 days.

You cant retrofit the panel on the 20-22 tailgate as they are unique. Was possible on the 17-19.

You only get the King Ranch appliqué on the tailgate with the Chrome package.

There is another member on here who recently recieved his KR and swapped out the tailgate for one with the applique. Not sure what that cost him.

Since he will be ordering a 2023, nobody knows for sure yet what the option will include on the updated model.

While we're on this topic, I have a KR Ultimate coming and would rather have the KR Chrome package tail gate as well. So in the long term if anybody with an Antimatter blue KR Chrome pkg tail gate wants to swap, let me know.

I wanted the tailgate plaque, and I didn't want the chrome package on my '22 KR so I added one.



I ordered the tuffskin stone grey inlay kit for it as well but it's not here yet.

Got any more info on the plaque for the OP, like did you get a whole tailgate, if not, how did you attach the plaque?
