If the rear sway bar from a late '70's E-series Ford Van will fit in my '69 F100 2WD, I'll be looking for those vans. I'd like to do an installation like Ultraranger posted in 2018 here. I don't think we'll be finding any '79 Broncos in any wrecking yards to acquire that rear sway bar that he installed.
And the pic of his rear sway bar installation from a '79 Bronco.
To modify the PH for better cleaning of rusted surfaces add 1 cup of salt per gallon of vinegar. I did my bucket seat frames this way. Easiest and cheapest method, plus I used the leftover as a weed killer.
I was able to get it rust off with just the steel wool.
went to junkyard again today and found these Rear Sway bar off 79 f150 sorry CreigN. Did not have a twin. Sway bar clamps from 79 f150 Intermittent wiper switch
That same 79 has a front sway bar with the brackets if anyone is looking for one. Located in Fresno CA.
Congratulations, nene!(Twins are hard to find.) Looks like you got all the parts you're going to need for a nice install on your '69. Let me know how it fits the F-100 frame rail width and also misses the shock absorber alignment on the rear axle. I remember a few years ago that someone said that the upper end links will bolt directly into existing holes on the rear frame rails. When you go to install the rear sway bar, take pics and let me know how it all fits in your frame. Are you going with rubber or prothane bushings?
I'm in San Jose area and we don't see too many '70s trucks or vans in yards around here. I might have to (gulp) buy an Addco or Helwig for my setup, which I really don't want to do if these '70s units will work.
nene…
Is your '69 F-100 a Styleside or Flareside (stepside)? Short or longbed? My '69 is a Flareside shortbed. I don't think there is a difference in frame rail width between the long and shortbed trucks. I hope that '79 F-150 rear sway bar fits so I can put that truck on my hit list at local yards.
my truck is Style side long bed. If you search for 69 f100 brought home roadkill style I have photos of it there. Well I will still keep an eye out I'll message you if I find another one. I will try putting it on tomorrow to see if it will work or not and report back to you. It came off a 79 f150 This is the tag for the truck I pulled it off of
so the sway bar does not work. The width is not the problem it's the curvature of the bar since it really only has one spot where the bushing can sit it limits placement and it contacts with the shocks.
