Alright, what we have here is a 2007 on 35s with a 6" lift. What I have is an issue with getting out of this thing! I'm 51 with one knee replacement and another pending and well I think this height is just a bit excessive for what I use it for. If I were a Teen - 30 something, it might be fine, but now I want to take the jump out of getting out. LoL I'll post more pictures and specs of the suspension lift, I know the rear is blocks and a leaf. I can't remember the brand, but will post that later.
What would I need to do to drop from 6" to 3" or 3.5" to run 33s? Heck if anyone is running a 3.5" and wants to go higher, maybe we can make a suspension swap? I appreciate your input on the requirement, I don't have any shops close by that I would want to ask this question to.
Yes about the only way is to lower it and go down to 33's...285/75's. In the end maybe get better gas mileage, better handling/braking and acceleration. And maybe easier on the knee getting up and in. Wide style OEM running board (black and ribbed).
I have an 07 4wd CC F150 and ditched the tube style nerf bars for the running boards. Also FYI the cab grab handles are prone to breaking when the little too short screws holding the metal plate to the plastic handle get loose and it lets the handle roll and breaks inside. When I got it it had the slip style nerf bars and them goofy rims...
Nice FX4 rims and OEM running boards. Sleeper stock look with 285 BGF's.
Search out ANY offroad place/shop/business that put on new rims and tires and lift kits/leveling kits. Places that seem to cater to Jeeps worth a phone call. I am sure there is SOMEONE on FTE with a 04-08 that will trade you.
Hahaha I'm still laughing at the story my buddy told me about the grab handle. He used it a lot and one day... BAM Those little screws gave way and he about knocked himself out when he hit the deck. He reinstalled the handle with larger screws and rivets. It's not coming down anytime soon! You have a clean looking truck that serves it's purpose. Mine is clean, serves it's purpose, but is a PITA to get out of.
Simply purchase a new 3 inch lift kit would be the easiest
I would check with your local 4x4 shop to see if they can help with cheap or free take off parts
Your truck, drivelines and suspension are going to love you for lowering it
So is your alignment man

My problem, not many aftermarket trucks shops within 1 hour. I'll ask some of the younger guys in the plant.

I have plans for electric steps and a new black bullbar. I decided to do the responsible thing and pay off a loan, instead of buying these items today.
I lowered my '07 in about 2011, took out OEM rear 2" blocks, used shorter 2x4 U-bolts. Up front, I cut and rewelded my 4x4 struts below the spring seat where is a stalk, It lowered the front about 2.25" as I recall. I had a thread here, with pics but photo bucket was such a mess. After using them, they skyrocketed fees. I run stock size tires, 275/55R20. I did my alignment. Truck drives better, entry and exit are a breeze now. That 2" made a huge difference in access to the bed too. Top is stock in my yard, lower is after lowering up at a car wash, was November 2011.
I'll aim to find a link. I was replacing some pics anyway.

I'll check out your link. Your truck looks perfect. I was thinking I was going to have to buy a new driveshaft, new control arms, on and on. I appreciate you responding to my thread.

Reason: short
2004 Lariat I had with a 2-1/2" leveling kit in the front. 4600 Bilsteins front and rear. 17x9 wheels with 295x70x17 Toyo MT's. Truck rode great and I was in my early 60's when I had this truck. Picture shows truck was sitting not too level due to the road.
As for the original post, if the problem is that ride height is presenting a challenge with getting in and out of the truck - the easiest thing to do is get smaller tires. Get a 30 inch tire which will fit the wheels. You'll have smaller tires, tucked into larger wheel well openings. That will be the cheapest way.
--------------------- OR ------------------------
What you can do is find out which lift kit is installed, See which parts were replaced. Read the installation instructions where it says things like "remove factory strut and install lift kit strut" or "remove factory cross member and install lift kit cross member". Get those parts. Remove the lift kit parts. Install the OEM parts.
This will be expensive. You could try to list the lift kit parts for sale. But I doubt that you will find many buyers, or recover the money you spent on buying parts.
If this were 10 years ago, you could find someone with a stock truck who wants a lift kit, then swap parts. Today, that probably won't work.
