What is the sensor that hooks up near the TDC indicator? Was thinking it might be crankshaft position sensor but might be wrong. It is on a 1983 f150 5.0L 302. Hooks up near the harmonic balancer but I’m not sure where the other end goes. I don’t have a picture right at the moment.
Yes a picture would help as I am not up on that motor, 300 six here LOL
I am pretty sure it is not a crank sensor but?
Motor is not EFI is it?
Motor from a different year, newer roller, as a used replacement?

Shady I like that
I know on some of the motors there was a hole by the timing mark to install a sensor that would be connected to a hand held unit or a rolling machine to pick up what the timing was so you did not have to use a light and then enter what it was into the system.
I was thinking, yep could be a bad thing, that if the motor was a newer roller EFI they may have a crank sensor but I dont know?
