Resistor wire

Hello all, I plan to install a pertronix ei in my F750 with a 391. Do I need to bypass the resistor wire?

Might want to check the instructions with the kit, or call the company, some kits say use with a certain resistor, others say, must have 12 volts to post A or whatever.
