I thought I might attempt to resurface my original pitman arm ball at some point. I only have hand tools so the odds on success are probably fairly low. It was going to get scraped anyway.
Welded some material to worn areas. I will grind off until a ball reappears.
...just cut away anything that doesn't look like what you're after.
I think its a worthwhile endeavor. You'll probably have to fill in some voids here and there but it should work. A great way to while away those long cold winter hours....LOL

I have been pecking away at little tasks mostly brakes, I am waiting on my diff to be reworked do I can get the chassis sitting on the wheels. Oh and then there's the steering shaft, but that's ......
....on going.
Tom,
I like the way you do things. I end up fabbing a lot of my own parts as well. Sometimes I wish I could just be the guy that opens up the old wallet and the mail order catalog and get some parts in but I just can't seem to do it. That, and most of the time the part I need doesn't really exist....LOL

Bobby
Yes Bobby, same boat as you. I know there will be concerns by some but it is triple pinned and will be tack welded. I drove the original modification for 9 years this is just adapting it to the original steering box.
