10 speed digital gear indicator

My 2018 has stopped indicating which gear the transmission is in. Does anyone know how this thing works? Is there a gadget on the trans or on the dash indicator that needs to be replaced?

Tap the (-) button underneath gear selector.

Thanks dlcorbett. That worked. Never used the manual shift feature before, but loaned the truck to my son-in-law one time. Now I will have to study the owners manual because it shifts skipping second gear. The manual does not do a good job explaining that feature or how to get back to factory settings.

In normal drive mode (not sport or tow haul etc) the 10 speeds skip gears for efficiency/mpg even my 2019 Mustang 10 speed auto skips gears, multiple gears actually when driving easy.
