On the road and not near anywhere great to work on truck or get work done. Middle of nowhere essentially. It's a 1994 turbo idi.
filled up with diesel today, went to turn it on and nothing.
Played with ignition, wires, fuses etc but can't track down what might be loose.
holding the window down button, it would go super slow, normal, not move, just totally random.
And Eventually I got it to start, and could hear glow plug relay kicking on and off rapidly and gauges all over the place. After a minute, everything started working normally.
parked again and tried to start, nothing again.
So not sure what wire would be loose thinking whatever turns on the truck cab/ instrument power.
I tugged on ground lines and power wires from battery and around under the hood didn't seem to change anything.
Here's a video of what it was doing after it fired up. Like as if the key is just getting turned on and off . Batteries are full cranks over instant and fires....when there's power to the dash and stuff
Figured it out. Both ground posts on batteries had that grey oxidization . Was not expecting that as I had the cables off to replace starter not long ago. But that was it.
My guess is it has poor and intermittent contact so as soon as stuff would try turn on it would just die off instantly and just cycle.
Good to know that you figured it out, Make sure all the battery cables are in good condition. Oxidation, damaged terminals and crispy wires are a NO NO.
