4.9L Rebuild Book

I'm thinking about rebuilding a 4.9L in-line six for my 1988 Ford pickup. I have zero experience with the 4.9L and it appears rebuild manuals are scarce, Does anyone know of any booka available for these engines? Thks!

The Ford factory shop manual - available online - cannot be beat.

I second Frenchtown Flyer. The Ford shop manual is what I used and it was great. I had zero experience and was able to get through it without any issues. If you don't have someone local to bounce questions off of, then I would certainly suggest this group. Good luck!

I got the electronic version of the Ford factory shop manual for my 1980 F-series. Yeah, if you want to rebuild anything rebuildable, it has instructions in there.
