Alternator not charging
New here - seeking help on charging issue. So I was driving my 99 Navigator and the battery started discharging. The battery light never came on but the battery discharged to the point that the truck finally died. I recharged the battery and took it to Auto Zone and they diagnosed bad alternator as I wouldda figured. I replaced the alternator and it still wouldn’t charge. Cleaned grounds and even replaced negative battery cable. Removed new alternator and took it to another chain for bench testing and it tested good. I switched batteries with one from another vehicle, still no charging from alternator as voltage at battery when running is about 11 volts. There are two small wires feeding alternator - Orange/black and green/black. Supply voltage on orange/black wire is same as battery voltage of 12.6V but voltage on green/black wire is less than 12 volts. Should green/black voltage also be battery voltage of 12.6 volts? Thanks for any help.
