Some of you may remember my grandpa is a retired ford mechanic. Ford moved my grandma grandpa my dad two brothers and one sister from north Carolina to idaho to work in a dealer in mtn home.
I guess were a ford family. Grandpa is 88 I was hoping to get this driveable so he can drive it. Today it happened was one of those ounce in a life time moments.
first thing he says is your clutch pedals way to high next thing was that it has lots of power. Hes died in the woods 300 6 guy was good to see him approve.
Popped the hood and first thing he noticed was the big carb and that he didnt expect it to run so smooth also said the welds look good.
Whered you get that. I built it grandpa its a efi lower I built the top to bolt the 600cfm carb on and its a divided intake. Its a what, lol
He then asked if I did the exhaust said those pipes are big. 2.5" grandpa.
I told him he can have it but he says he has a hard time with manual transmissions now and that hes hurting alot and not getting out much. Its insured and legal all lights work so if you ever want just take it. Ill know where its at.
He said it drives well I say its all over the road. Told him im going to fix the steering, fix? Well get rid the old school ford junk.
Pretty excited and nearly teary eyed. This has been over a year in the making with time no longer on our side.
hes helped me with motor stuff even gave me a 300 thats been holding up a tree in the back yard for nearly 30 years. Some of that motor is in this truck.
