Transfer case fluid

Good afternoon everyone, new to the forum. I have a 2012 f250, 6.7 diesel. The transfer case fluid needs changed. In my research I discovered that motor craft stop making its transfer case fluid and replaced it with Mercon lv. Can someone confirm this for me?

Also what is a good quality brand of DEF fluid?

Any Mercon rated ATF is fine to use in the transfer case, I use the Supertech brand from Walmart.

Valvoline sells a synthetic transfer case fluid that says it works where Ford XL-12 was originally intended to (see back of bottle)

If you were to take it to Ford for service, LV is what they would use. It's been in my 2105 for the last 50K miles, and it's fine.

OP: Any fluid that meets Mercon LV requirements will work just fine in your truck.
